The regulations placed on collection and sorting systems for HDPE post-consumer wastes such as milk bottles, for example, are particularly stringent. Intrinsic viscosity (IV) is one of the central quality criteria in rPET processing. This is because it has a significant impact on the mechanical properties of the end product in terms of tensile strength or stiffness, for example.
